Hills Are My Friend....
I went for a cycle with a friend today who chose not to go my easy, 1 hill on the way home route. Instead we had to go via beach road. I of course got left behind quite quickly to die quietly, with my lungs and legs screaming through inactivity, after 2 weeks off the bike with a hacking, chesty cough. However, at the end the sense of achievement and 'survival' was a buzz! I can do the hills. I just need to work on picking up the speed and working through the burn. The countdown to conquering Taupo in under 5 hours begins!
