I've just got back from visiting my friend and colleague Yvonne in HDU in hospital. She is recovering from an 11 hour operation to remove an rare, aggressive and malignant tumor from her sinus. In the process she lost her left eye. She is sleepy, vacant, looking rather bewildered, lost and bereft. Nobody should have to go through this. Why is it that a good person like Yvonne has to go through this and not the pieces of shit that are locked away in Paremoremo prison? Why is it that nobody has discovered a cure for this hideous disease yet? Someone told me the other day that their theory is that drug companies do have the cure but that they make more money out of the chemo drugs etc. Surely this is not true. Surely they can put any price tag on the drug of cure?
Yvonne has 3 gorgeous kids and a devoted husband who are also affected by this. The kids haven't seen their mummy for 4 days now. They also don't know their mum has lost her eye. They are waiting until Yvonne has more energy and can hold a conversation. Good people should not have to go through this. It's just not fair.
